FAQs

  • Any seminarian entering the Configuration Stage of Formation or presently in any year of the Configuration Stage of Formation is welcome to attend.

    The focus of the workshop, however, will be on initial foundations and preparations for preaching.

  • You may arrive on Monday, July 14 any time between 2:00-4:00pm.

    The opening conference begins at 4:00pm, and the first meal will be dinner following Vespers on July 14.

    The workshop ends with Mass (11:00am) and lunch (12:00pm) on Friday, July 18.

    Attendees may depart after Mass if need be, or they may depart after lunch (around 1:00pm) on July 18.

  • If you are coming by car, the seminary is located at:
    5400 Roland Avene, Baltimore, MD 21210

    Parking is available on the premises.

    If you are arriving by plane, it is best to fly into BWI airport and take a rideshare car service to the seminary (transportation from the airport is not provided by The COR IESU Project).

  • St. Mary’s Seminary & University offers private rooms with private bath for each registrant, in addition to a fully-staffed kitchen which will provide three meals a day.

    The seminary also has a state of the art Fitness Center, which will be available to participants during their stay.

  • The days begins with Lauds and Mass at 7:30am, followed by breakfast.

    In the morning there will be two one-hour class meetings, with a break in between.

    After lunch there will be free time for reading, study, and personal activities.

    There will be an hour long class and seminar/workshop meeting in the afternoon, with a break in between.

    The evening begins with Vespers and dinner, which are followed by a Holy Hour.

    The evening concludes with an hour-long social/recreation, ending with Compline at 9:00pm.

  • Please bring your Breviary.

    For common events, dress attire is “Seminary Casual” (pants, polo shirt).

    Bedding and towels are provided in every room.

  • After you submit the Registration Form, you will receive information about payment.

    Two methods of payment are possible:

    Unfortunately, we are not able to accept Credit Card payments at this time.

  • There will be an outing to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (the first cathedral built in the United States).

    There will also be a social outing one evening to the Inner Harbor (a historic and beautiful part of downtown Baltimore).

    The arrangements for the visit to the Basilica and the Inner Harbor are included in the total cost of the workshop.

  • Unfortunately, we are not able to issue refunds in the case of cancellation (special cases will be considered).

    However, if an registrant is not able to attend, his “spot” may be transferred (without any further cost) to another registrant.

  • This Preaching Formation Workshop is envisioned as the first part in a two-part series of preaching formation workshops offered by The COR IESU Project.

    PREACHING WORKSHOP I (being offered in July 2025) is a foundational workshop in preaching formation.

    PREACHING WORKSHOP II (to be offered in Summer 2026) is a tutorial-style workshop that will build on the formation offered in the first workshop and provide extended time for personal coaching in preaching.

    In addition, online webinars may be offered to those who have attended the workshops.
